Site work and paving for a road / highway in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Complete Streets Rehabilitation - Multiple Locations. The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in specifications. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the specifications, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the County. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to determine which bid, in their judgment, is the lowest responsive bid of a responsible Bidder. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $15,244,00.00. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to the Treasurer of Sacramento County, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a material and labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the County of Sacramento, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and other incidental work for: the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for constructing an asphalt concrete overlay, to repair deteriorated pavement sections (base repair), place a rubberized asphalt concrete overlay or slurry seal, install ADA curb ramps, traffic signal improvements, restripe the roadway, and other improvements necessary to complete the overlay. Question Deadline 01/09/2024 at 4:00 PM PT Direct pre-bid questions to the Project Manager, James Eslabon, via the Q&A tab in the portal eslabonj@saccounty.gov Temperature Requirements Placement of the fabric shall be made only under the following temperature conditions: 1. The ambient air temperature is above 50 and rising. 2. The pavement is dry and pavement temperature is 40 and rising. 3. The pavement temperature is below 100unless otherwise directed by the Engineer. Fabric Placement Fabric shall be placed into an uncut asphalt cement tack coat consisting of PG 70-10 asphalt binder. The tack coat shall be spread at a uniform rate of 0.25 gallons/yd 2 (+/- 0.03 gal/yd 2 ). The binder shall meet the temperature requirements of the Standard Construction Specifications. The width of binder application will be the fabric width, plus, four inches for each roll of fabric. The tack coat shall be placed via mechanical methods utilizing a distributor truck and in accordance with Section 92, "Asphalt Binders," of the State Standard Specifications. The truck shall be equipped with a calibrated measuring rod and external truck mounted gauge, which indicates gallons present in tank. Placement of fabric shall be from two feet (2') from the edge of pavement to two feet (2') from the edge of pavement, unless otherwise directed by the Engineer. Further, no fabric shall be placed within street conform areas. At each manhole, valve box, monument box, or other utility which would be covered with fabric, the fabric shall be neatly cut around the utility frame to allow for raising of the frame and cover to finished grade. The fabric shall overlap six inches (6") at transverse joints. Transverse joints shall be shingled in the direction of the paving. No joints shall be lapped with more than two layers of fabric. The fabric equipment for placing the fabric shall be mechanized and capable of handling full rolls of fabric. The fabric shall be broomed in order to maximize pavement contact and remove air bubbles. The equipment used to place the fabric is subject to approval by the Engineer. To enhance the bond of the fabric with the existing pavement the Contractor may be required to pneumatically roll the fabric after it is placed. The Engineer will make the determination if this is necessary. Measurement and Payment The pay quantity for pavement reinforcing fabric will be determined by the measurement of the area covered by the fabric. Joint areas, that received an overlay of two (2) layers of fabric, shall receive a single measurement for area and shall not be counted twice. The contract unit price paid per SQUARE YARD of Pavement Reinforcing Fabric shall include full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals, and for doing all work involved in placing Pavement Reinforcing Fabric, as shown on the plans, as specified in the Standard Constructions Specifications, these Project Special Provisions (including but not limited to the asphalt binder), and as directed by the Engineer and no additional compensation will be allowed.
