Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Morton, Illinois. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The scope of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and generally consists of the selective demolition of the existing structure and building addition at the North Entry. Building addition is a steel framed structure with aluminum composite panels over metal stud facade, aluminum curtain wall entry, single ply membrane roof, drywall partitions, and polished concrete slab on grade construction. The existing gym facade will be faced with aluminum composite panels and a drop off canopy structure. The existing building will have a complete renovation of the locker room areas including walls, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. There is also an infill building addition of an existing courtyard consisting. Bids shall include labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services for completion of the entire Project under a single fixed-price General Contract, between the Owner and the General Contractor. The apparent low bidder will be required to submit a Qualification Statement for this Project within 48 hours if requested by the owner. Documents and shall be ac-companied by a bid guarantee consisting of bid bond, certified check or cashier's check made payable to MORTON COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #709, in amount of five percent of total bid amount. Failure of bidder to submit an acceptable bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in amount to cover proposals bid upon is cause for rejection of his bid. Successful bidder will be required to provide Surety Performance Bond and separate Labor and Material Payment bond, each in amount equal to 100% of contract price, within 10 days after prescribed forms are presented for signature. Surety on bonds shall be a duly authorized company acceptable to Owner. Bids on all work of this contract shall be subject to the provisions of the "Illinois Prevailing Wage Act" (Illinois Revised Status, Chapter 48, Section 395S - 1-12). The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to accept or reject any or all bids when in the opinion of the Owner, such action will service the best interest of the Owner. The Architect and the Owner will not respond to questions orally regarding the Project outside of the Pre-Bid Meeting. All requests for clarifications or interpretations outside of the Pre-Bid Meeting shall be made in writing and will be answered by Addendum when appropriate. A deposit is required for printed sets made payable to Keach Architectural Design, Inc., or CIBAGC Document Request/Security Cards. Deposits will be returned to bidders who return all the complete sets of Bidding Documents in good condition to The Wassi Group within 10 days after date of opening of bids. Upon registration bidders may receive a digital set of bid documents.
