The proposed phase for the Project generally consists of the installation of approximately 118 linear feet and 136 linear feet of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) via parallel directional drilling construction across U.S. Highway No. 1, including all valves, fittings, air release valves, maintenance of traffic (MOT) and restoration activities. The Project replaces existing potable water mains and adds redundancy to the distribution system, with a total of approximately 345-LF of 6" C900 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe for the Coco Plum bypass and for future extension of the ground storage tank yard piping. Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a copy of certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid. A copy of the certified check must be attached to the bid proposal in e-builder The Contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest single lump sum/unit cost price proposal, with consideration of any Alternate(s) accepted by the FKAA. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Contract Documents. All bid bonds, contract bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates of insurance shall be either executed by or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurance company having his place of business in the State of Florida, and in all ways complying with the insurance laws of the State of Florida. Further, the said surety or insurance company shall be duly licensed and qualified to do business in the State of Florida. In order to perform public work, the successful Bidder shall hold or obtain such Contractors and Business Licenses as required by State Statutes. Before a Contract will be awarded for the work contemplated herein, the FKAA will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the FKAA to evaluate the Bidders qualifications. The FKAA reserves the right to reject all Proposals where the FKAA deems rejection to be in its best interest, or to reject any Proposal not in compliance with the Contract Documents. The FKAA reserves the right to waive any informalities and irregularities in said Proposals. Firms are hereby placed on formal notice that neither the FKAA Board of Directors, nor any employees of the FKAA are to be lobbied either individually or collectively concerning this project.
