The work is generally described as follows: Removal and Disposal of Biosolids. The city of South Sioux City is requesting Bids for dewatered biosolids (sludge) removal/disposal from the South Sioux City Wastewater Treatment Facility. The city will require ongoing removal/disposal services. Disposal shall occur a mini mum of two times per year (spring/ fall), but removal more often is allowed if desired by the bidder. The exact quantity needing to be removed will vary, but the preliminary estimate is approximately 40 to 90 dry tons (200 - 450 wet tons @ 20% solids) per month. The bidder is required to: oLand apply and/or properly dispose of all dewatered sludge taken from the city. o15-20 acres of city owned land might be available for application of the sludge adjacent to the existing wastewater facility. This is still to be determined. oBe responsible for nutrient testing and USEPA 40 CFR 503 testing of the biosolids. oBe responsible for loading the dewatered sludge from piles in the city's wastewater treatment facility's sludge storage building into the hauler's trucks/roll-off containers. oBe responsible for obtaining/locating all sites necessary for proper disposal. oBe responsible for all land applied sludge permitting in accordance with federal, state, and local governments. oSupply the city with all completed and approved permitting information and forms for their record keeping requirements Insurance requirements for this project are attached to the proposed agreement which can be provided to the bidder upon request. When the executed Agreements are delivered to the Owner, the Contractor shall deliver Certificates of Insurance evidencing the required coverage is in place. When Contractor delivers the executed Agreements to Owner, Contractor shall also deliver to Owner a Performance Bond, in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price, as security for the full completion of all Contractor's obligations under the Contract Documents. All bonds and insurance shall be obtained from surety or insurance companies that are duly licensed or authorized to issue Bonds or insurance policies in the jurisdiction in which the Project is located, for the limits and coverages as required.
