As part of the Station Transformation program, Metrolinx is looking to install hoarding around all unused service counters across the network. The project covers 153 service counters at 62 stations (including 7 existing partially covered baseline stations) that are no longer serving their initially intended purpose. Metrolinx is seeking to expand our current hoarding program of seven locations, and with the scope of work in this tender to match existing work on-site. This primary vendor would also need to carry a sub-trade for printing and installation of wrap graphics, if such production facilities are not available in-house. These counters will be hoarded for up to five years (the estimated lifespan of the hoarding; the lifespan can be extended with routine maintenance by Metrolinx staff). This solution is part of the customer service delivery model's evolution from a transactional-based services (where employees are generally working behind a service counter) to personalized face-to-face support where employees roam throughout the station and remove barriers between customers and staff. This also further develops a self-serve approach, where customers can purchase fares on their own. The hoarding will also address the perception of unstaffed stations and alleviate customer and reputational concerns regarding reduced or redeployed staff.
