Demolition, site work and renovation of a museum in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a museum; for the renovation of a museum; and for site work for a museum.
The Work of this Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the renovation of the Kinkead Pavilion including: Selective demolition of interior wall and ceiling finishes. Removal of existing window frames and glazing. Selective demolition of existing heating and ventilation equipment and piping. New museum quality LED lighting. New fire protection service extended to Kinkead Pavilion from existing water main including excavation, fire line connection, fill/backfill, sprinkler system equipment, fire department connection, sidewalk and landscaping repairs. Updated security camera systems. Power distribution associated with DiCastri exhibit fabrications to be located at the Lower-Level Andean Gallery. Exhibit fabrications and partitions to be constructed and installed by UIUC F&S mill shop. Modify existing ductwork, fan-powered VAV boxes, temperature controls and building BAS. Existing AHU's to remain. New lower-level outside air damper. Envelope air barrier repairs to be accomplished from the building interior. Repair interior building envelope joints and voids at roof to wall and floor to wall intersections and at interior materials transitions. New suspended acoustic panel and painted gypsum board ceilings. Access panels. Painted vapor retarder and wall finish. Replace existing windows and glazing at north elevation of Bow Gallery and south elevation of second floor offices including associated blocking, insulation, metal fabrications, framing, air barriers, sheathing, gypsum board repairs, exterior marble and copper window surrounds, and interior wood window trim. New humidifier at AHU-3 integrated into building BAS. Each bidder shall prequalify with the Owner in accordance with the General Instructions to Bidders. This Project is located at: Kinkead Pavilion is located at the north side of Krannert Art Museum on the UIUC campus at the corner of Peabody Drive and Sixth Street. Physical address: 500 East Peabody Drive, Champaign, Illinois 61820 This project includes a Project Labor Agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsible/responsive bidder and the East Central Illinois Building and Construction Trades Council. Utilization of WMBE certified vendors must designate full participation as either a MBE or WBE when split goals are identified for purposes of meeting diversity goals. WMBE value may not be split between MBE and WBE. Vendors that are both BEP and VBP certified may only be counted towards either the BEP or VBP goal, but not both. The goals for this project are as follows (N/A in "Combined Goal" column means split goals are in effect and "N/A" in "Split Goals" column means combined goals are in effect for each specific division of work). Minority and women business enterprise goals are for each division of work and may vary by project. Specific diversity goals for each project are identified within the Bid Documents. The Owner encourages bidders to hire qualified individuals in accordance with 30 ILCS 500/15-25(a), including but not limited to veterans (as defined by 30 ILCS 500/45-67), minorities, women, and persons with disabilities. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to accept the bids deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner after all bids have been examined and evaluated. Alternates, if considered, will be accepted in any order as determined by the Owner.
