The City of Grapevine Public Works department is soliciting sealed bids from qualified vendors for Directional Drilling Services. Directional drilling service are needed in support of City of Grapevine, City of Colleyville and Grapevine Colleyville ISD (GCISD) fiber project. This project consists of underground fiber optic cable conduit installation. Services will be provided on an as needed basis. Contractors shall include the cost of all labor needed to provide per foot cost per line items requested Rate Schedule. The City of Grapevine will be responsible for assisting with permitting in these areas for this project. This is a city project and we do not have engineered plans. Placement of conduit will be at least 36 in depth. Depth may be adjusted in the field to adjust for conflicts but needs to be communicated with Project Manager. Contractors shall have a minimum of 5 years of experience in underground utility construction to bid. This contract shall be for a fixed price and an initial one-year period with options to renew for two additional one-year periods. The bid will be awarded to the lowest responsible/responsive bidder meeting or exceeding specifications in accordance with the provisions of the current Texas Local Government Code Title 8. The intent is to award to one vendor as an annual contract but may be awarded to multiple vendors if deemed in the best interest of the City. The annual contract start date will be sometime after City Council approves the award which will be in December 2023. The total amount of conduit being installed will be between 10,000 and 15,000 ft. No Pre-Bid meeting is required. All questions regarding the terms, conditions or specifications of this bid must be submitted by 10:00 a.m. on November 30, 2023, through the eBid system.
