The Washington County Public Works department is issuing this request for proposals (RFP) to provide project coordination, utility coordination, survey, preliminary design, final design, and permitting services for the Trunk Highway 61 Turn Lane Extension Project in the City of Hugo. Washington County was successful in obtaining a grant through MnDOTs Local Partnership Program (LPP) for the widening of Trunk Highway 61 to address safety and congestion issues between segments of Washington County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 8 Frenchman Road North and Egg Lake Road North/140th Street. This project aims to provide additional left turn lane capacity for both northbound and southbound traffic as well as provide signal modifications and new pedestrian crossings. This stretch of roadway experiences a high volume of rear end and same direction sideswipe crashes which indicates is indictive of operational and congestions issues.
