Renovation of a detention facility in Albany, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

As of February 13, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Flooring as requested by Albany County Correctional Facility Bids and any other required documents must be submitted, sealed in an opaque envelope, plainly marked with the name and number of the bid and the name and address of the bidder and accompanied by the required documents. Bids must be received at the following address: Pamela O Neill Albany County Purchasing Agent 112 State Street, Room 1000 Albany, NY 12207 All bidders shall submit the Bidder Qualification Questionnaire as part of the bid. Each bid must contain evidence of the bidder's qualification to do business in New York State or covenant to obtain such qualification prior to award. 7.2 All bidders shall submit the Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire (Attachment "C") as part of the bid. 7.3 In addition, Albany County may make such investigations it deems necessary to determine the ability of the Bidder to perform the work. The bidder shall furnish to the County, within five (5) days of a request, all such information and data for this purpose as may be requested. The County reserves the right to reject any bid if the information submitted by, or investigation of, a bidder fails to satisfy the County that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to complete the work contemplated therein. Conditional bids will not be accepted. 7.4 All bidders must document five (5) or more years in the business of providing the installation of resinous flooring. 7.5 Bidder must include at least five Floor installation, customer references. Replies will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded as having received the bidding documents. Questions received less than four (4) days prior to the date of submission of bids will not be answered. The County will be bound only by responses given by formal written Addenda 1. The contractor will remove and install existing flooring in north side of SHIP and replace with new Resinous flooring system approximated at 7,200SF. All necessary components to successfully replace all work shall be performed in accordance with all applicable building codes, standards and materials specifications. 2. The contractor shall install and provide all materials and labor to complete the following: a. Mechanically diamond grind surfaces to clean and profile concrete.. b. Vacuum all debris and properly clean and profile concrete substrate. c. Repair any minor surface deviations as well as seal surface joints with appropriate fillers/solid epoxy. d. Install Key Thin-Film Coating System, consisting of epoxy primer, epoxy basecoat and urethane top-coat. (Light Grey) e. Contractor must be willing to work off hours to provide safe work environment for staff/civilians as stated below. (3) f. Clean up and remove all debris on a daily/nightly basis. 3. The contactor shall coordinate access to job site and all work activities with the Superintendent /designee. All work shall be performed during the hours of 7AM - 5PM, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Superintendent/designee. Weekend work is available as well as overnight work as agreed upon by contractor and superintendent to ensure safety of staff as well as proper operation of main entrance. Time schedule for removal and installation of new equipment must ensure uninterrupted operation of the maintenance department. 4. The successful contractor shall field verify all dimensions PRIOR to commencing work. 5. Contractor shall comply with all necessary OSHA regulations and standards. 6. Contractor shall clean all work areas each day to the satisfaction of the Superintendent/designee. Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of all construction debris. Contractor shall keep all areas of the work site free from rubbish and accumulation of waste materials 7. Contractor shall protect existing systems and surfaces to remain, all damage resulting from contractor's operations shall be replaced or repaired to a condition acceptable to the County Engineer, by the contractor at no additional cost to the County. 8. Contractor shall be responsible for all site staging and safety operations, as well as complete restoration of any disturbed areas SHIP shelter to the satisfaction of the Superintendent/ designee. 9. Incorrectly fabricated, damaged or otherwise miss fitting or non-conforming material or conditions shall be reported to the Superintendent/designee prior to remedial or corrective action. Any such action shall require approval. 10. Contractor shall provide warranty to cover contractor workmanship for a minimum of 90 days from date of final completion of work. 11. Contractor shall provide manufacturer's standard warranty for materials. Warranty shall take effect upon final approval of work by Albany County. 12. Contractor shall physically inspect and evaluate installation of all equipment installed. Upon review of inspection, any recommendations outside this scope of services shall be submitted in writing to the County for review and approval prior to commencing work. 13. Contractor shall comply with Albany County Correctional Facility security requirements as attached.
