These bids are invited for the development of a restoration and public access site for the Front Beach Event Space and Marina project. All Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft payable to the order of the City of Ocean Springs, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid bond executed by Bidder and an acceptable surety, must be submitted in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. All Bids submitted in excess of $50,000.00 by a prime or subcontractor to do any work, must comply with Section 31-3-21, Mississippi Code of 1972, by having a current Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Public Contractors. . If a sealed envelope bid is submitted by mail, the post office address of the City Clerk is P.O. Box 1800, Ocean Springs, MS 39566. Bids may be delivered to Patty Gaston, City Clerk, at 1018 Porter Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. All bid envelopes should contain the bidder's name and mailing address on the outside of the envelope and also specify the name of the bid item. The Bidder's Certificate of Responsibility Number or a statement that the bid inside is less than $50,000.00 shall appear on the outside or exterior of the envelope or container of such bids, failing which, said bid shall not be opened or considered. The current Certificate of Responsibility Number shall be indicated on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope in order to be opened. All Bids submitted for $50,000.00 or less shall be so marked on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope. The City of Ocean Springs reserves the right to reject any and all bids received and to award said bid in the best interest of the City. Bids may be held for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the Contract. Site lighting layout and details shown in the Plans are diagrammatic in nature and are intended to indicate general design and installation requirements. The Contractor shall adapt the design for the specific requirements of the site lighting manufacturer for site lighting equipment furnished by the Contractor. It is the intent of this Section that all site lighting standards, luminaires, grounding, supply cables, and all other ancillary and incidentals shall be properly furnished and installed so as to render the site lighting installation complete for successful operation, regardless of whether all the site lighting components are specifically shown on the Plans or specified in this Section.
