Renovation of a detention facility in Chester, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
The project scope includes replacing two existing steam air handlers, immediate piping, ductwork, associated system equipment, adding two attic return fans for return in the winter and exhaust in the summer. Two exhaust fans are being added to ventilate the center cell core plumbing chase. Direct Digital Controls will be added to the new equipment. Removal of the existing abandoned water heater and relocation of steam condensate pump will be included. The electrical scope includes support of Heating and Ventilation items as well as support for the BAS scope of work. One large opening in the center of the exterior wall will be added for maintenance access. A set of security double doors will be added for the installation of mechanical equipment. Two large openings will be added in the exterior wall for outside air intake louvers. These louvers will be provided with security bars. Structural will be provided to facilitate the addition of the large openings. Asbestos abatement will be performed as needed to complete the project.
