As of February 2, 2024, the project has not been awarded. A timeline for award has not been confirmed. A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Renovation of 13,221 sq ft of Wing C of the Whitko Jr/Sr High School and the addition of 9,785 sq ft for a new classroom wing as more completely described in the Contract Documents. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. 1. General Contract (all trades). Bids shall be received from one prime contractor for all work as outlined in the Specifications and Construction Drawings. 2. All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over the construction of the project shall apply to the project throughout. 3. Contractors shall note that the project is subject to the Common Construction Wage Act (effective July 1, 2015) for record-keeping and all terms of this Act shall be followed in their entirety. 4. Contract form for the project will be AIA Document A101. 5. Contract will be made to the responsive, low, responsible bidder. The bidder must be approved by the Owner and the Architect upon review of the bids. 6. Whitko Community Schools are tax-exempt. The owner will provide appropriate documentation to the successful Bidder. Whitko Community School Corp JR High Renovation and Addition Project Description: Renovation of the existing "D wing" and Auditorium/Cafeteria restrooms of the Jr/Sr High School and the addition of a new "E wing". Project Location: Whitko Jr/Sr High School 1 Big Blue Avenue South Whitley, Indiana 46787. The project cost range is anticipated to be under $7,400,000.00. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid amount. A 100% Performance Bond, and a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to the Owner will be required as part of each Bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
