The Project consists of widening a portion of U.S. Highway 70 between log mile 9.78 and 10.15 to incorporate a two-way center turn lane for approximately 2,000 feet. Construction items include, but are not limited to, 7,900 cubic yards of unclassified excavation, 90 cubic yards of embankment construction, 90 cubic yards of undercut and backfill, 4,200 tons of aggregate base course, 2,200 square yards of cold milling, 250 tons of ACHM leveling course, 820 tons of ACHM base course, 1,500 tons of ACHM surface course, 300 linear feet of reinforced concrete arch pipe, 2,300 linear feet of pipe underdrain, and 11,900 linear feet of pavement markings Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier s or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the Owner, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within fifteen (15) days after notice of award of Contract to him. Such bid guarantee shall be made payable to City of North Little Rock. The successful bidder must furnish a performance, payment, and maintenance bond upon the form provided in the amount of one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. Bids must remain in effect for 60 days after the bid opening date. Within 60 days from the bid date, the Owner may award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder or reject any or all bids for the project.
