Renovation of an educational facility in Junction, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Texas Tech University System and Texas Tech University are currently programming for the design and construction of two new facilities at Texas Tech University Center at Junction (TTUCJ). TTUCJ offers multiple opportunities for Texas Tech, such as research, natural resource management, watershed protection, ecological restoration, environmental conservation, range and wildlife management, invasive species, and zoonotic diseases. TTUCJ currently encompasses 411 acres and 31 buildings. Outlined below are the two new proposed facilities for TTUCJ (facility names are proposed only and might evolve as the project progresses): Wildlife Disease and Deer Research Facility (WDDRF) - Will provide additional laboratory space, including equipment, for researchers working on various studies related to wildlife disease throughout the region. An expansion of the available laboratory facilities devoted to wildlife research will expand research programs on deer physiology, growth, nutrition, ecology, and disease surveillance, with continued use and development of disease biomarkers and disease therapy development with TTU faculty. This facility will support and expand groundbreaking and impactful research and surveillance in a region with the most significant deer density in the United States.
