Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Carrollton, Texas. Working plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
As of February 13,2024, all bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid. This project is divided into two parts, each with its own construction drawings and specifications, and shall be referred to as Part A and Part B respectively. The contractor is to complete or be on schedule to complete Part A of the project, which includes opening public access to the parking lot from Plano Parkway, before commencing with construction of Part B. BASE BID Part A includes, but is not limited to, the construction of a parking lot with installation of erosion control, RCP, grading, drainage, conduit, paving, delineation of parking stalls, sidewalk, landscape, and irrigation, as well as other related items. The contractor shall furnish and install all material s required and furnish all necessary labor and equipment for a complete and finished project ready for use and operation by the City. Part B includes, but is not limited to, the construction of paving, storm drain, and associated demolition of existing pavement, as well as other related items. The contractor shall furnish and install all materials required and furnish all necessary labor and equipment for a complete and finished project ready for use and operation by the City. ADD ALTERNATE Part C includes, but is not limited to, the construction of park si gn, paving, playground, fencing, headwall extension, concrete sidewalk and trail, utili ties including electrical and water, landscape, and irrigation. Items included in Part C are considered Add Alternates and shall be bid alongside Part A and Part B. The contractor shall furnish a nd install all materials required and furnish all necessary labor and equipment for a complete and finished project ready for use and operation by the City. Bidders must submit, with their bi ds, a cashier's or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum amount bid, payable without recourse to the City of Carrollton, Texas or a Proposal Bond in the same amount from an approved Surety Company (according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of approval by the Stat e Board of Insurance under 7.19-1 of the Texas Insurance Code) as guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute bond and guarantee forms provided within ten (10) days after award of contract to him. The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Sure ty Company holding a permit from the State of Texas, to act a Surety and acceptable (according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of approval by the State Board of Insurance under 7.19-1 of the Texas Insurance Code). The successful bidder must also be able to show evidence that it is authorized to do business in the State of Texas prior to executing the contract. All blanks on the Bid Form must be completed and all subtotal and total prices must be stated in both script and figures where indicated. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. In case of ambiguity or l ack of clearness in stating the price in the bids the Owner reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the bid. Unreasonable or unbalanced unit price will be considered sufficient cause of rejection of any bid or bids. Bidders shall have performed similar scope of work within the past three years. Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves regarding local conditions and conditions under which the work is to be done. Attention is called to the provisions of the Acts of the 43rd Legislature of the State of Texas and subsequent amendments concerning the wage scale and payment of prevailing wages specified. Prevailing wage rate will be established by the City of Carrollton for this project. All bidders must comply with the rules and regulations for the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Start Construction January 29, 2024 Finish Construction (180 Days) July 25, 2024 Question Deadline: 12/08/2023 at 11:00 AM CT An addendum addressing the questions received will be issued.
