The San Diego Convention Center Corporation ("Corporation") is seeking proposals from qualified contractors ("Contractor") to upgrade the existing lighting control and dimming systems at the San Diego Convention Center. Contractor shall provide a survey of the building, feasibility study, estimation, design, supply, and installation of lighting control and dimming systems in Corporation exhibit halls. Contractor shall evaluate current dimming and lighting control systems and prepare their proposals such that they integrate current material and devices into the newer system. Contractor shall prepare proposals based upon two options either to re-use the existing material and update the software after minor modifications and revisions to the current infrastructure and equipment, or propose the installation of brand-new control devices and software so that the current devices and material utilization is maximized. Once Corporation selects the project method, Contractor shall develop the drawings necessary to submit and receive approved permits from the City of San Diego. Contractor shall remove/install necessary equipment and make modifications and upgrades per current situation and physical condition. Testing shall be conducted prior to project completion to ensure the devices are installed properly and are fully functional. As-built drawings shall be provided to document final project installation. This project is to be accomplished by review of existing documentation, discussions with onsite personnel, and per the following codes and standards/manufacturers' instructions: o CEC - California Electrical Code, Title 24, Part 3, including all applicable Amendments and Supplements, as based on NFPA 70 o CBC - California Building Code, Title 24, Part 2 o CFC - California Fire Code, Title 24, Part 9 o CAC - California Administrative Code, Title 24, Part 1 o CMC - California Mechanical Code, Title 24, Part 4 o CEC - California Energy Code, Title 24, Part 6 o CGBS- California Green Building Standards Code, Title 24, Part 11 o NFPA - National Fire Protection Association o NEMA - National Electrical Manufacturers Association o ANSI - American National Standards Institute o IEEE - Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers o UL - Underwriters Laboratories o CAL/OSHA - State of California Low-Voltage Electrical Safety Orders o CAL/OSHA - State of California High Voltage Electrical Safety Orders o Codes and regulations noted in other Sections in Division 26 Should conflicts exist between the above referenced standards, it is Contractor's responsibility to bring the conflict to Corporation's attention. In general, in the event of a conflict, the most stringent of the requirements will apply. Corporation makes no warranty as to the accuracy of any existing drawings. Bidders shall verify all quantities, dimensions, conditions and variables of all existing infrastructure and equipment prior to submittal of a bid. To meet current code requirements and modernize the exhibit hall lighting system, Corporation is considering the following options for this project: Option A: Upgrade the program/software of the existing control and dimming system so that the system can function in at least three pre-setup and or customized configurations without any functional delays and unrecognizable to zero seconds program logic execution sequential gaps. The new software should have both on-site and remote-control capabilities. Option B: Supply, and installation of advance and smart control systems (Lutron, Crestron, Leviton lighting control systems brands, or proposed comparable best suited solutions) so that the system can function with multiple pre-setup and customized modes. The system will need to have capacities for future expansion. The system will need to be able to accommodate different lighting fixtures across other locations of the facility.
