The Orange County Water District (OCWD or District) is soliciting quotes from qualified firms to remove an installed vertical turbine pump and motor, evaluate the condition of its components, and perform recommended rehabilitation as authorized by OCWD. The equipment is located in the city of Anaheim on land owned by OCWD Please address questions to Ben Smith via email: bsmith@ocwd.com. The scope of work shall include: The pump and motor are to be pulled and transported by contractor, using contractor supplied equipment. OCWD will assist by having the pump flow locked out and wiring disconnected. Contractor shall remove the roof covering. See Exhibit B for a record drawing and photographs of the existing site. Inspect and rebuild the pump and motor as necessary. Include pricing to remove, pick up, clean, disassemble, inspect and repair pump column pipe, shafting straightness, shafting bowl and impeller assembly, discharge head, and motor (Motor bearings, test, bake and dip). Balance shaft and assembly of pump. Reinstall the rehabilitated pump, motor, and roof covering in the same location including gaskets and packing/mechanical seal, including connection to discharge pipe. OCWD will land the wiring. Provide commission testing, troubleshooting, and start-up support. Note that this process may not take place until several months have passed after the reinstallation. Provide a written, detailed report with measurements and pictures of conditions found. Provide observations on possible causes of pump and motor wear or potential future mechanical issues. The District reserves the right to request additional information and/or clarifications from any or all Contractors.
