Renovation of an educational facility in West Bend, Wisconsin. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
This project generally consists of replacing the existing primary metered electrical distribution system and replacing it with a new secondary metered electrical distribution system. WE Energies will extend the existing primary around the campus to facilitate the project. Each of the (4) four existing unit substations are to be removed in their entirety, and properly disposed of. Three new utility transformers will be installed by WE Energies to be utilized to feed each of four new secondary metered electrical services. New secondary feeders will be routed into the building. New "I-Line" style distribution panels will be installed to replace the old unit substations. All existing loads from the existing unit substations will be spliced and extended over to the new panelboards. This project includes minor building modifications including masonry walls, doors, housekeeping pads, as well as ceiling, wall, & roof penetrations. This project includes minor landscaping to return disturbed areas to their current condition. The electrical contractor will act as the prime contractor and will be responsible for providing all labor and materials for this turnkey project. The work of this project is to be substantially completed to the County's satisfaction by August 30, 2024. This will be bidder's only opportunity to see the project site, the site conditions and to take measurements for this project. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid meeting is required in order for a firm's bid to be considered. Failure to attend will result in the disqualification of the firm's bid. Bid security is required and shall be by a qualified surety in the form of a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount and shall be submitted with the bid. Failure to submit the required bid security as part of the firm's sealed bid will result in immediate rejection of the firm's bid. Accepted bidder will also be required, as a condition precedent to award of contract, to furnish in the amount of 100% of the contract price, satisfactory Performance/Payment Bond and acceptable Certificate of Insurance. All bidders shall be experienced in this type of work and will need complete and submit a Bidder's Statement of Qualifications in order to be pre-qualified with Washington County for this work. This completed form is to be received no later than 5 days prior to the bid opening. The Bidders Qualification Form is included in the bid document for this project. Additionally, bidders are to include with their bid three (3) references of similar projects completed within the past 3 years that Washington County may contact as well. Washington County reserves the right to waive any informalities or technicalities and to reject any and all bids or parts thereof deemed to be unsatisfactory or not in the County's best interest. Furthermore, Washington County reserves the right to cancel any order or contract for failure of the successful bidder to comply with the terms, conditions and specifications of the bid request and/or contract. Washington County reserves the right to award the bid in the aggregate or by item or like item groups (where applicable) to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder who complies with the specifications, service and can meet the requirements of this bid.
