No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the scheduled time of opening bids. The letting of work described herein is subject to the provisions of Section 66.0901 Wisconsin Statutes, as it applies to work done under this contract. No bid will be received unless accompanied by an uploaded Bid Bond or electronic Surety2000 bid bond equal to 5% of the bid, payable to the City of West Bend, Wisconsin, as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the successful bidder will execute and file the contract and payment and performance assurances, forming a part of the Specifications, within 10 days after the award of the contract. The payment and performance assurances must be for an amount at least equal to the contract price and must be in the form of a bond,an irrevocable letter of credit, or an escrow account acceptable to the City. In case the bidder fails to file such contract, performance bond, and payment bond, the amount of the bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages (Section 62.15(3) of Wisconsin Statutes). The Contractor shall adjust the valve boxes to proposed grades within the project limits as indicated on the plans, complete with all items specified on the plans, in these Special Provisions, and in the Citys Standard Specifications. There are a few lead water services in the project area, which will be replaced with copper water services within the street right of way, while the private portion will be replaced with HDPE tubing. The Contractor shall remove existing storm sewer mains and structures, and furnish and install the storm sewer mains and structures as shown on the plans, complete with all items specified on the plans, in these Special Provisions, and in the Citys Standard Specifications.
