The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor and incidentals as required by the contract documents. The work to be performed includes, but not limited to, of the following activities for this contract: Removal and dispose of approximately 2,880 lineal feet of chainlink security fence including posts and its concrete footing, as well as one (1) sliding gate. The holes caused by the removal of said concrete footings should be properly filled and compacted. Also includes the installation of approximately 2,000 lineal feet of 8-foot high galvanized chain-link fence with privacy (inserted) slats and three (3) strands of barbed wire, 880 lineal feet of 4-foot high galvanized chain-link fence with privacy (inserted) slats and three (3) strands of barbed wire, as well as one (1) 20-foot wide x 6-foot high galvanized chain link double swing gates and regrade a strip of ground adjacent to the new fence right after its installation along the easterly side of Hwy 86 from 2nd Street to Marshall Avenue. The scope of work includes, prior to the start of construction, the coordination between the City of Imperial and the Selected Contractor, hereinafter referred to as "Contractor", for the compliance and implementation of the Project Conditions, as well as the coordination between the Imperial County fairgrounds and the Contractor for the implementation of the traffic control plan. The Contractor shall obtain an encroachment permit from the City of Imperial. Testing and Studies called for shall be paid by contractor. Demolition debris shall be recycled or diverted as required by the City's C&D Ordinance. This project has a specific contract Disadvantaged Businesses Enterprises (DBE) Contract Goal of 8%, expressed in percentage terms for the Contractor's aggregate workforce in each trade on all construction work in the covered areas. Each bid must be accompanied by a guaranty of cash, certified check, cashier's check or bid bond made payable to the City of Imperial for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the bid. Such guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fails to enter the contract. The City of Imperial reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to award each item separately, delete portions of the work, and/or waive any informality on any bid. No bid may be withdrawn for 45 days after the time set for the opening thereof. Questions concerning the proposal should be directed to Dennis H. A proposal may be withdrawn by a written request signed by the bidder. Such requests must be delivered to the CITY's designated official prior to the bid opening hour stipulated in the Notice Inviting Sealed Bids. The withdrawal of a proposal will not prejudice the right of the bidder to submit a new proposal, providing there is time to do so. Proposals may not be withdrawn after said hour without forfeiture of the proposal guarantee.
