Renovation of a mixed-use development in Homewood, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 58,000-square-foot educational facility.
As evidence of good faith, each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, bank draft or certified check and made payable to Homewood School District 153 in the amount of 10% of the bid is required, which shall be submitted to secure the district against loss occasioned by failure of the bidder to abide by and comply with the terms of his bid. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish payment and performance bonds in the full amount of the bid or proposal, at the time a contract is awarded, to Homewood School District 153 by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois and approved by the District. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without the consent of the District for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing bids. The District Board reserves the right to reject any applicable bids for any reason, if it decides that such rejection is in the District's interest, to reject any nonconforming bids, to waive any informalities in bidding, and to make award on that bid, which, in its opinion, is most advantageous to the District. Bidders will be required to comply with all laws including those related to employment of labor and the payment of local prevailing wage rates, including any revisions by the Department of Labor of the prevailing rate of hourly wages which revised rate shall apply to this contract and any related sub-contractor contracts. The prevailing rate of wages is subject to revision from time to time by the Department of Labor and are available on the Department's official website. The roof replacement project scope is limited to Winston Churchill School (Approximately 58,000 sq. ft.)
