Contract 1 - Water Line Replacement Contract 1 - Water Line Improvements includes furnishing and installing all piping, hydrants, valves, bores, pavement restoration, site work, accessories and appurtenances required for fully operational water line extensions as described in the specifications and as shown on the contract drawings, including but not limited to replacement of approximately 2,200 LF of 12" and smaller water line, service meters, and related improvements along Franklin Street. Additive Bid Item #1 includes replacement of approximately 480 LF of 10" and smaller water line, service meters, and related improvements along Oak Street. Additive Bid Item #2 includes replacement of approximately 970 LF of 12" and smaller water line, service meters, and related improvements along Virginia Street and Willow Street. A Deductive Bid Item is being considered for the price reduction offered for awarding both Contracts 1 & 2. Five Percent (5%) Bid Deposit is Required and Must Be Sealed in a Separate Envelope and Attached to the Outside of the Envelope Containing the Proposal. A separate performance bond and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price will be required. A Performance and Indemnity Bond (North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) -Highway Encroachment Installation) shall be executed by the Contractor. Carriers must be authorized to do business in North Carolina. Liquidated Damages = $400.00/ Calendar Day The Contractor agrees that the Work will be fully completed within 300 CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR DAYS of the Notice to Proceed.
