Hilfiker Wall Repairs Project, Land Port of Entry, 900 International Bridge Plaza, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. This is a solicitation notice for a contract for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Public Building Service, Region 5, at the Land Port of Entry, 900 International Bridge Plaza, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. This acquisition will result in a single contract award. The estimated range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Hilfiker mechanically stabilized earth retaining wall at the Land Port of Entry in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, has distress in the form of bulging welded wire baskets, vertical and horizontal displacement of the concrete on top of the wall, and an outward lean of the walls has been noted in the Hilfiker wall system for several years. This project will address the bulging wire baskets and outward lean of the wall as well as correct poor drainage that has contributed to the wall's movement. The project will construct a new earth retention soil nail wall and re-slope the concrete parking area above the Hilfiker wall, fortifying the wall and protecting it from continued corrosion. The performance period for on-site work is 120 calendar days from the issuance of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The construction contractor will be required to provide an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its proposed low embodied carbon concrete (including cement) & steel (rebar) that meets the Global Warming Potential (GWP) limits.
