Site work for a water / sewer project in Brownwood, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City is accepting turnkey proposals from qualified vendors for installation of the new residential water service lines from existing water meters to a new city-supplied water meter in a designated location on the residential property as agreed upon by the residential property owner, the plumber, and the City, at (93) residential locations as shown in the City provided map (see attachment). All locations are within the city limits of the City. The City is seeking multiple, competitive proposals from licensed Master Plumbers that have workers comp insurance provided for their employees and insurance bonded for the cost of the project. Vendors are encouraged to visit each residential property as listed on the Water Service Re-location Project map. The City anticipates that they will be able to install approximately 2 meters per week at a minimum. The City will reimburse the vendor when a resident's work is completed, and inspections have been performed. The City will cut checks once per week as long as the invoice is received by the Wednesday of that week. Proposals shall include a one-year warranty, vendors will create a descriptive letter of this warranty to provide to the resident prior to the start of work. This warranty will cover workmanship, all materials used, equipment, labor, and any other associated costs of repairs within the one-year period. A bid bond in the amount of 10 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each proposal. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Brownwood or negotiable U.S Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that the State of Texas Government Code mandates that a city contracting for public work in excess of $50,000 shall require its contractor to execute a payment bond. The Government Code also mandates that a city contracting for public work in excess of $100,000 shall require its contractor to execute a performance bond. The successful Proposer (Contractor) must provide a payment bond and a performance bond when required per Texas State Law. Questions regarding the RFP may be addressed to: Kevin Scalley 501 Center Ave Brownwood, Texas 76801 kscalley@brownwoodtexas .gov Since the actual damages for any delay in completion of the work under this agreement are impossible to determine, the City reserves the right to levy liquidated damages in the amount of$100 per calendar day beyond the Agreement Period (see above) for any unreasonable delay in equipment. Question Deadline 01/24/2024 Each request for clarification shall be made in writing to John Ureed@publicmgt.com) no less than seven (7) days prior to the due date. No oral interpretations will be made to any vendor. Each request for clarification shall be made in writing to John Reed Ureed@publicmgt.com) no less than seven (7) days prior to the due date. Each interpretation made will be in the form of an Addendum to the contract documents and will be distributed to all parties that received a quote request no less than seven (7) days prior to the due date. It is, however, the vendor's responsibility to make inquiries as to any addenda issued. All such addenda shall become part of the contract documents and all vendors shall be bound by such addenda, whether or not received by the vendors.
