Site work for a mixed-use development in Banning, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The City of Banning (City) is seeking a qualified entity or individual (Company) to provide the services listed in the Scope of Work. The City anticipates selecting one firm to perform the services. Proposals are requested from Companies that have a demonstrated ability to perform the tasks identified in this Request for Proposal (RFP). The City of Banning (City) is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms for the Design of Lions Park Non-Potable Water Irrigation Conversion. Lions Park is an 8.9-acre facility located at 955 South Hargrave Street. The Facility consists of three baseball fields, a childrens playground and a 500 square-feet concession stand. Lions Park existing irrigation piping is a mix of PVC, HDPE, and copper piping that has gone beyond its useful life. The Consultant will provide a design that splits the existing potable water irrigation system into a non-potable water system for irrigation and potable water system for facilities such as drinking fountains and bathrooms. The City of Banning is strategically located astride Interstate 10 between the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley in the San Gorgonio Pass. The City, incorporated in 1913, has a rich and colorful history. Initially Banning served as a stagecoach and railroad stop between the Arizona territories and Los Angeles. This history has contributed to the present-day spirit of pioneer resourcefulness and "can do" attitude that is so prevalent in the community. Banning is a friendly and wholesome place to work and raise a family. Desirable executive housing is available, as well as moderate and lower income housing. Clean air, ample water supplies and the memorable and inspiring scenic vistas of both Mt. San Gorgonio and Mt. San Jacinto, the 2 tallest peaks in Southern California, are additional amenities which make the City of Banning a logical choice as a development opportunity in the Southern California area. Recently, the City of Banning installed a 24-inch non-potable water main on Charles Street that will serve the park for irrigation purposes. The Consultant will investigate and evaluate existing conditions of the irrigation system and make recommendations to City staff. The Citys preference is to remove or abandon all existing irrigation piping and equipment and install all new piping and irrigation control equipment. The work will also include the installation of non-potable water identification valve boxes, lids, and tags; installation of non-potable water signs; sprinkler heads upgrade to water efficient, color-coded purple heads; and installation of a smart irrigation controller and backflow preventer. The design of the non-potable irrigation system shall be designed in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations governing the installation and use of non-potable irrigation systems. The Consultant will be expected to visit and investigate the site for potential limitations and advantages prior to submittal of proposal. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. Question Submission Deadline December 21, 2023, 11:59pm Anticipated Contractor Selection Date January 9, 2024
