The intent of this invitation for bid is to secure a qualified plumbing and electrical contractor to perform repairs, installation, replacement, and remodeling services for a one-time sewer pump replacement job at the MDOT SHA - La Plata Maintenance Shop. This contract will be a lump sum based on approved hourly rates and material mark-up percentages. The MDOT, State reserves the right to require the Contractor to have a helper or secondary individual on all assigned tasks. Quantities are estimated and used for bid evaluation only. They may not represent the actual quantities experienced once the contract is awarded. b) If the "Total Bid Amount" results in a total that exceeds $50,000, the contract with the low bidder will be written as "not to exceed $50,000" using the unit prices established in Column C. c) SHA is exempt from Maryland Sales and Use Taxes by Exemption Certificate Number 3000256-3 and from Federal Excise Taxes by Exemption Number 52-73-0358K. Do not include tax in bid prices. QUESTIONS DUE DATE/TIME: Wednesday December 6, 2023 @11am EST Ejector Pump Replacements Plan: 1.The Contractor Shall secure a safe containment work area for a confined workspace. 2.Contractor shall pump out outdoor sewage pit, removing sewage from pit prior to pump replacement. 3. All site work shall be coordinated with onsite SHA facility representatives. 4. All staff working on this project are required to sign-in at the front office daily. New Work Plan: 1.The Contractor Shall furnish, replace and install two (2) sewer ejector pumps in kind (Xylem/Flygt Model 3068. 3Hp, 208Volt, 3 Phase) or compatible, replace one (1) pump guide rail and All necessary components. 2.The Contractor shall ensure that All parts and material are guaranteed to be as specified and the above work to be performed in accordance manufacturers recommendations and State of Maryland work practices. 3.The Contractor Shall ensure All required electrical connections and to ensure proper operation of associated controls. All electrical work shall be performed by a licensed electrician. 4. All Plumbing work shall be performed by a licensed plumber. 5. The contractor will be responsible for any damages caused by negligence, poor workmanship or below standard performance. 6.The Contractor will be required to clean up the entire work area at the completion of the project to be dust and debris free in addition to disposing of debris off site during and upon completion of the project. A site inspection will allow the prospective bidder to familiarize oneself with all conditions that may affect the performance under, and cost of, the contract. Failure of the bidder to familiarize oneself with the measurements and conditions shall not constitute a basis for contract adjustments after award.
