Demolition and site work for a detention facility in Gate City, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.

The project consists of the demolition of two buildings, and abandonment of existing water, sanitary sewer, and electrical services. Work shall include abatement/removal and proper legal disposal of asbestos-containing materials, removal and proper legal disposal of PBC and mercury-containing fixtures, switches and thermostats, all work related to demolition/removal/recycling of lead-based paint coated surfaces, any associated erosion and sediment control measures, traffic control, storm drainage installations, grading, site restoration, testing of materials, and legal offsite disposal of demolished items and materials. Bids shall be on a Lump Sum basis. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The procedure for withdrawal of bid shall be according to procedure "(i)" of Section 2.2-4300 of the Code of Virginia. If a contract is for seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) or more, or if the total value of all construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by the bidder within any twelve- month period is five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) or more, the bidder is required under Title 54.1, Chapter 11, Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class A Contractor." If a contract is fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) or more but less than seventy thousand dollars ($70,000), the bidder is required to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class B Contractor.
