Site work for a civil project in Las Vegas, Nevada. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The owner has determined a prequalified list of design build companies. The Owner is pursuing the Horizon Lateral Program (PROGRAM) which will address system reliability, redundancy, and long-term water delivery needs to its facilities providing service primarily to the City of Henderson and the Las Vegas Valley Water District. The PROGRAM consists of new pipelines, pumping facilities, power transmission facilities, a reservoir, rate of flow control stations (ROFCS), interconnections between the proposed and existing transmission facilities and other appurtenances to support a functional new potable water delivery system. The Owner has implemented a staged design and construction delivery strategy for the PROGRAM, and the Horizon Lateral - Paradise Hills Pipeline and Pumping Station project is one in a suite of initial projects moving forward with detailed design. The pipeline component consists of the Horizon Lateral pipeline segment starting at the River Mountains Water Treatment Facility (RMWTF) and heading south and westerly to the Paradise Hills Pumping Station located west of the Nevada State College campus. The pipeline includes an interconnection to the existing Owner transmission system and three turnouts for future connections, all of which include isolation valve vaults. The Paradise Hills Pumping Station will deliver 65 MGD from the Horizon Lateral to the COH R-33 Reservoir. The offsite pipeline and R-33 Reservoir will be designed and constructed by the COH and is not part of this scope. The Project will consist of the following anticipated components: Pipeline Design Components: o Approximately 22,000 linear feet of 120-inch steel water pipeline. Including three trenchless crossings under an existing Owner 108-inch diameter waterline, Interstate Highway I-11 (NDOT) and Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks. o (2) 30-inch valved outlets for future connections, (1) for Boulder City and (1) for COH Reservoir R-8, both of which include: o Approximately 100-feet of a 30-inch branch line with a dished head for future connection. o 30-inch isolation valve within an underground valve vault. o (1) 120-inch valved outlet outside of the Paradise Hills Pumping Station for future connection to Horizon Lateral pipeline. o Approximately 100-feet of a 120-inch branch line with a dished head for future connection. o 120-inch isolation valve within an underground valve vault. o Approximately 100-feet of 108-inch interconnection piping to existing transmission facilities. o (2) 120-inch isolation valves on the Horizon Lateral pipeline and (1) 108-inch isolation valve on existing transmission pipeline within a valve vault located in the RMWTF. Stub and dished head for Horizon Lateral Pipeline connection to future River Mountain Pumping Station C. o Access Road to the Paradise Hills Pumping Station. Pumping Station Design Components: o 65 MGD pumping station with phased installation of horizontal split case pumps to provide 35 MGD of initial operating capacity. o Single level Pump Building with pump room, electrical room, mechanical room, compressor room, restroom, and disinfection room. o Surge protection system including compressed air system, surge tanks, surge bypass vault, and surge tank screening walls. o Pump suction pressure reducing valve trains. o Pump discharge flow metering station. o Mechanical support systems including bridge crane, HVAC, and plumbing systems. o Electrical, instrumentation and control equipment, electrical service equipment yard. o Security monitoring and access system. o Site civil improvements including grading, access road, curb and gutter, perimeter security walls, and access gates. o Yard piping including steel pump suction piping and discharge piping. o Landscaping to maintain the COH municipal code requirements and overall general desert landscape appearance. o Accommodation for future installation of a future PROGRAM pumping station surge protection one-way feed tank. Estimated Pre-Construction Phase: May 2024 through December 2026 Estimated Construction Phase: January 2027 through September 2029 For further information, please contact Chetan Champaneri at Chetan.Champaneri@lvvwd.com.
