The work involved in this contract includes the removal of a failing sheet pile wall, and its replacement with a rip rap slope. Due to environmental restrictions, no instream work may take place between April 16 and July 15. If the lake is frozen to substrate, work may continue until thawing occurs. Basin Environmental Ltd. has prepared a Desktop Qualified Aquatic Environmental Specialist Report and Water Act Application report outlining restrictions and mitigation measures which will need to be adhered to during construction. Note that all environmental requirements are subject to amendments which will take place following contract award once the construction schedule and methodology has been finalized. The work includes the following approximate quantities: - Isolate and protect Lac La Biche Lake from construction activities in accordance with environmental approvals. - Prepare and implement an ECO Plan. - Prepare and implement an Erosion and Sediment Control Plan. - Adhere to approved Water Act and Qualified Aquatic Environmental Specialist Reports, and any subsequent amendments. - Construct, maintain, and reinstate required access locations for equipment and materials. - Remove and stockpile of 650 linear meters of corrugated sheet pile wall. - Remove and salvage 1200 square meters of existing gabion mattresses. - Supply and place 850 square meters of Class 1M rip rap filter layer. - Supply and place 3200 square meters of Class II rip rap at 1.0m depth Documents can be obtained from https://buildworkscanada.com
