The Safe Routes to School Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project CIP 23006 (Project) is located in close proximity to four (4) elementary and two (2) high schools. These schools have a combined enrollment of approximately 6,050 students. It is estimated that over 150 students reside along the routes proposed for safety improvements. The existing land uses surrounding the school sites consist primarily of singlefamily residential uses. However, certain schools are located in close proximity to neighborhood commercial uses. Nonmotorized access to the school sites is primarily via residential streets. The City's Tidewater Bikeway is located near the south side of Manteca High School. The Project offers direct connectivity to Manteca Transit Center and to the high school site as well. The awarded Measure K project is summarized as follows: Installation and/or replacement of sidewalks, curb and gutter, curb ramps to meet ADA compliance, mid-block crossings with refuge islands, crosswalk striping, and drainage modifications. Refer to Appendix A for conceptual exhibits showing proposed safety improvements. Appendix A includes six conceptual exhibits. Each exhibit introduces the proposed safety improvements near a school site, and each exhibit has an associated table describing the work that will be designed by the consultant and the work that will be designed by City forces. This is a locally-funded project using Measure K funds. As such, the project scope must be reviewed to ensure compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act. The following summary of the scope of services is not inclusive and is only intended to be used as an indication of the minimum services to be provided. It is the City's expectation that the Consultant shall include in their proposal all work necessary for the completion of the Project, and no future amendments to a contract would be required. At any time during the procurement process, if a firm makes any changes to proposed key personnel or sub-consultants; they must notify the City in writing of those proposed changes. The City reserves the right to accept or reject such proposed changes or to revise the evaluation scoring to reflect the proposed staffing changes. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
