Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Apex, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Description The Contractor's attention is directed to the fact that there are areas of existing pavement on this project that will require repair prior to resurfacing. Patch the areas that, in the opinion of the Engineer, need repairing. The areas to be patched will be delineated by the Engineer prior to the Contractor performing repairs. 113,703 Sy Milling, 1.25-inch Depth 7,820 Tn Asphalt Concrete Surface Course, Type S9.5b 4,548 Tn Patching Existing Pavement 1,530 Lf Curb & Gutter, Standard (30") - Remove & Replace 693 Sy Concrete Sidewalk - Remove & Replace 99 Ea Concrete Curb Ramp - Remove & Replace SCOPE OF SERVICES. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment necessary to perform and complete the work as identified in the attached "2024 Road Rehabilitation Project" at the locations and to the specifications outlined in the "Contract Documents." The Contract Documents include this Agreement and those documents identified in Sections 2 and 32 of this Agreement. In the event of a conflict between any of the Contract Documents and this Agreement, this Agreement shall control. All bids shall be prepared and submitted in accordance with the following requirements. Failure to comply with any requirement shall cause the bid to be considered irregular and may be grounds for rejection of the bid. The bid form furnished by Town of Apex shall be used and shall not be altered in any manner. The Bidder shall submit a unit price for every item on the bid form. The total amount shall be determined by adding the amounts bid for each item. Bid must be accompanied by an original, fully executed Bid Bond payable to Owner in an amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. A certified check, in the above referenced amount, may be used in lieu of a Bid Bond. The Contractor shall complete the required work of installing, maintaining and removing the traffic control devices for lane closures and restoring traffic to the existing traffic pattern. The Contractor shall not close or narrow a lane of traffic outside of the following time periods without prior approval of the Engineer: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM The time of availability for this intermediate contract time will be the time the Contractor begins to install traffic control devices required for the lane closures according to the time restrictions stated herein. The completion time for this intermediate contract time will be the time the Contractor is required to complete the removal of traffic control devices required for the lane closures according to the time restrictions stated herein and restore traffic to the existing traffic pattern. The liquidated damages are five hundred dollars ($500.00) per hour or portion thereof. Typical patching depth is anticipated to be 2.5 inches.
