Renovation of a residential development in Brewton, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The project consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials,equipment and all services andperforming and coordinatingall operations for the Modernization of Public Housing SitesAL156-2, V, HUD ModernizationNumber AL09-P156-501-23.The Work of the base bid shallinclude, but is not necessarily limited to replacement offloor tile, drywall, painting, trim,window replacement, securityscreens, doors and hardware,bathroom retrofit, kitchen retrofit, electrical, HVAC, plumbingand work incidental thereunto.Attention and reference is directed to the General Notes ofthe drawings. Plans and specifications will beissued only to qualified contractors licensed by the State Licensing Board of General Contractors of Alabama as requiredby Title 34, Chapter 8, Code ofAlabama, 1975 as amended.Only bids of such contractorswho are duly licensed will beconsidered. Current licensenumber must be displayed onthe sealed envelope in whichthe bid is delivered or the bidWILL NOT be accepted. Bidders are requested to inspect the property and thebuildings themselves, as well asoperations and conditions thatmay be affected. A certified check or bank draft,payable to the order of theHousing Authority of the Cityof Brewton or a satisfactorybid bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable suretycompany in an amount equalto five percent (5%) of the totalbid shall be submitted with eachbid. Acceptable Surety Companies are listed in the currentissue of the U.S. Department ofthe Treasury, Circular 570. Attention is called to the factthat not less than the minimumsalaries and wages as set forthin the contract documents mustbe paid on this project, and thatthe contractor must ensure thatemployees and applicants foremployment are not discriminated against because of theirrace, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Contractors are reminded thatin accordance with State Law,Alabama General Contractor'slicensing number shall be displayed on the sealed envelopein which the bid is delivered orthe bid will not be accepted. Each bid must include the Representations, Certifications, andOther Statements of Bidders,1992 Edition, Non-Collusive Affidavit and the Previous Participation Certificate signed by thebidder and on the correct HUDforms. The Housing Authority of theCity of Brewton reserves theright to reject any or all bids orto waive any informality in thebidding. Bids may be held by the Housing Authority of the City of Brewton for a period not to exceedsixty (60) days from the date ofopening of bids for the purposeof reviewing them and investigating the qualifications of thebidders, prior to awarding thecontract.
