Description Roof Restoration of the EAST BUILDING at CITY ARCHIVES AND RECORDS CENTER By downloading bidding materials, all entities acknowledge and understand that, in order to submit an acceptable bid per the City of Grand Rapids guidelines, they must be prequalified in the appropriate categories and amounts to bid as Prime Contractor for the project. It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to verify prequalification status with the Engineering Department prior to bid opening. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may be grounds for a bid to be unread or disqualified. Please contact the Engineering Department with any questions and submit any prequalification applications or updates at website The undersigned as bidder proposes to do all the work of: Roof Restoration of the EAST BUILDING at CITY ARCHIVES AND RECORDS CENTER and to furnish all parts, labor, materials, supplies, equipment and other facilities and things necessary and proper for and incidental to the proper performance and completion of the work specified in the Contract Documents, including the drawings and specifications and as required by the City Manager and City Engineer to begin construction within seven (7) calendar days after a Contract is executed (unless otherwise indicated in the Special Provisions) and to complete the work by the date(s) listed below, and for the unit prices stated in the Bid Form. Substantial Completion Date: November 1, 2024 Final Completion Date: December 27, 2024 Technical Questions: please contact Leah Ruther at lruther@wje.com At Roof Area A: 1) Terminals embedded into the roof system are to remain, upon removal of the existing roof system coordinate with A/E and Owner for review of as-built conditions and appropriate detailing of the new roof system at these locations. 2) Where cable is currently buried in the existing roof system, remove and replace to be visible and accessible atop the new roof system. 3) Where portions of the lightning protection system are currently visible and atop the existing roof system, remove and reinstall in kind. 4) Coordinate all work with a Lighting Protection sub-contractor and the Owner. Modify all overflow drain piping at Roof Area A only and incorporate an adjacent through-wall scupper below the roof slab within occupied space as shown on the drawings. Provide interior temporary protection and coordinate with Owner.
