Description

Renovation of a municipal facility in Andrews, Texas. Design plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The Recreation Center will be up to 50,000 square feet containing two to four gyms, game space (VR, arcade, traditional games such as ping pong, shuffle board, etc), storage (utilize all space), janitorial closet, two offices, ADA compliant restrooms, basic concession area (sink, refrigerator, excessive electrical/plugs), rooftop gas HVAC units, small garage door access for a truck. The selected Architect will be required to provide programming to assist the Owner in determining the size and features of the ACRC and offices that best fit the County's needs and which are constructible within the County's estimated construction budget. The County has initially estimated $12 million as the construction budget. The selected Architect will be responsible for the design of the facility and for providing contract administration services during construction. The Owner elects to use the Construction Manager at Risk ("CMR") method for the ACRC project, the Architect will be required to assist the Owner in the selection of the CMR and to work productively with the CMR during the design of the ACRC. As of June 3, 2024, the design firm has been selected. The construction document completion timeline has not been released. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been disclosed. Further details regarding firm construction and completion timelines have not been identified.
