Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Michigan City, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Any Bid received after the presiding official declares the time for submitting Bids closed will not be considered. Bids will be received for the following work: The work for this Project comprises improving and rehabilitating 9 road segments noted as Divisions 1-13 in the Bidding Documents. Road Improvements consist of HMA milling, HMA patching, HMA paving, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, ADA ramps, pavement marking, and lawn restoration. Additionally, bidders will be required to comply with Michigan City's Equal Employment Opportunity and Local Hiring Ordinances. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or cashier's check from a solvent bank or trust company, drawn to the order of the Owner, or an acceptable bid security, in an amount of not less than 10 percent (10%) of the total bid for the Project. This bid security is a guarantee that if the Contract is awarded to the Bidder, he will enter the Contract. This bid security of all bidders except the three lowest responsive bidders will be returned within thirty (30) days after the opening of bids. Any Bidder whose bid security has been retained may, after thirty (30) days from the opening of bids, request return of his bid security provided he has not been notified of award of Contract . The bid security of the successful Bidder will not be returned until Bidder delivers the required performance bond. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. However, no bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the scheduled time for opening, unless agreed to by the Owner. The award of the Contract will be made by the Owner. In determining who is the lowest responsive Bidder, the Owner will consider the bid and all other relevant facts or matters mentioned in the Contract Documents or which the Owner may legally consider in determining the lowest responsive Bidder. The Owner reserves the right, after all bids have been examined and tabulated, to waive any informalities and insubstantial defects in any bid and to accept the bid which it deems is the most responsive and responsible and most favorable to the interests of the Owner.The Owner expressly reserves the right to reject any and all of the bids received. All bid awards are made subject to an appropriate contract being finalized between the Owner and the awarded Bidder. Questions about the Contract Drawings should be directed to Jeff Wright tel.219/872-9407 email: jwright@haasllc.com Question Deadline 12/28/2023 The base bid generally includes: (a) Construction signage, maintenance of traffic, construction engineering, new sidewalk, removal and replacement of sidewalk, new curb or curb and gutter (if indicated on the pay item lists), milling existing pavements, placement of bituminous surface and all other incidentals required to complete the work. (b) Incidental work including removal and replacement of curb and gutter as required. (c) Incidental work including removal and replacement of sidewalks as required. (d) Coordination with the Michigan City Engineering representatives (HAAS & Associates), the general public, residents, Michigan City Police and Fire Departments, Emergency Services, INDOT, Michigan City Area Schools, and Ambulance Services. (e) Pavement demolition and replacement. (f) Restoration of construction affected area. (2) Maintaining Traffic, Construction Signs, and other traffic control devices as required to complete the work.
