Saving Project...

Renovation of a municipal facility in Calgary, Alberta. Design plans call for the renovation of a six-story above grade municipal facility.

The former Calgary Red Cross building is a six-storey structure complete with one basement level and a penthouse / mezzanine level. the building was constructed in 1978. It has a carport on the East side of the main floor as well as well as two drive in loading docks at the rear of the building. Total gross floor area from Basement to the Penthouse is 6,426 square metres. Phase 1 of the project included interior demo and hazmat abatement; completed in September 2023. Future work to include: Phase 2 - electrical, mechanical, fire protection, plumbing and wastewater lines upgrades as well as upgrades to the super structure/exterior closure, interior finishes, and parkade upgrades. Phase 3 - Tenant improvements/office fit-up to all six floors. TIMELINE: Planning and design work has begun. A total of 4 tender packages will be issued for phase 2 and 3. Scope of work and project schedules may be updated mid-2024.
