Dubuque County, Iowa (hereafter referred to as the County) is soliciting competitive proposals from qualified professional consulting engineering firms or project teams to determine interest and capabilities providing Professional Engineering Services that include structural engineering condition assessment for the facility located at 9533 Noonan St., Dubuque IA 52003, which will be referred to as the Key West Maintenance Shop (KWMS). There are visible concerns with the structural integrity with two main structures of the KWMS. The County wishes to partner with a Consultant to identify necessary structural components (visible and non-visible) to strategize repairs or improvements to increase the longevity of the KWMS. The buildings have various structural systems including pre-engineered steel frames, CMU and clay tile walls, wood & timber framing, and concrete foundation elements. The Consultant should not feel constrained to the preliminary scope of services as outlined in this RFP. Consultants are encouraged to include any ideas to improve the development of the project as outlined and to recommend work not identified in this RFP. The final contract scope of services may be adjusted to include items not listed in the preliminary scope of services, if it is determined that additional factors need to be investigated and addressed in the project development and design process. The scope of services to be performed by the Consultant shall be completed in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice, and shall include the services to advance the project from the preliminary design stage to the final construction documents and as-builts. County budget is $300,000 for consultant services and facility improvement repairs. The County anticipates that the selection process will be completed by January 10th, 2024. o The anticipated start date of the contract will be January 17th, 2024. o The anticipated start date of improvements will be March 25th, 2024.
