The Work to be completed includes clearing the Site as identified in the Appendix A (Arborist Report by Trophic Design and Supplemental Arborist Memo by RVA). The scope of Work includes but is not limited to the following: Clearing the Site of all standing trees, brush, bushes, and other vegetation to a maximum height of 300 mm above original ground level and the removal of felled materials and windfalls, all in accordance with OPSS.MUNI.201. For clarity, all trees, brush, bushes and other vegetation within the Site shall be cleared except for the following trees as noted in Appendix A: o Tree 240 (Sugar Maple, 45 cm DBH) o Tree 241 (Sugar Maple, 65 cm DBH) o Tree 246 (Eastern White Cedar, 20 cm DBH) o Tree 247 (Eastern White Cedar, 20 cm DBH) o Tree 257 (Sugar Maple, 75 cm DBH) o Tree 271 (Black Cherry, 42 cm DBH) o Tree 273 (Sugar Maple, 2 @ 15 cm and 37 cm DBH) o Tree 274b (Sugar Maple, Group of 6 @ 15 - 20 cm DBH) Close cut clearing and grubbing is not required. All mulch and other by-product material created as a result of tree clearing activities must be removed from Site to the satisfaction of the Contract Administrator. Co-ordination (including a Site meeting) with the Region and the Region's Consultant, R.V. Anderson Associates Limited (RVA) to confirm the limit of clearing. Two weeks notification shall be provided by the Contractor prior to commencement of the Work. This will include a schedule, a site specific safety plan and a work plan outlining the proposed method of completing the Work. All trees shall be felled into the clearing area to ensure that damage does not occur to the trees outside of the clearing area. The Contractor shall immediately report any damage to trees not shown for removal such as broken limbs, damage to roots, or wounds to the main trunk or stem systems so that the damage can be assessed immediately. The Contractor shall retain an arborist to assess damaged trees and carry out any work recommended by the arborist at the Contractor's cost. No road closures will be permitted at any time. The Contractor shall maintain all lanes of traffic during peak hours (before 9:30 am and after 3:00 pm). Lane closures will only be permitted during non-peak hours (9:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday). At a minimum, all roads shall be open to one lane of traffic in each direction during lane closure times. Traffic Control Plans must conform with the latest edition of OTM Book 7. The Contractor shall obtain a Road Occupancy Permit from Halton Region prior to starting the Work and adhere to all conditions. Refer to Appendix B for insurance requirements required for the Road Occupancy Permit that the Contractor will need to provide in addition to the insurance requirements outlined in the General Terms and Conditions as modified below. The permit fee will be waived, however the Contractor will be required to provide the applicable security deposit. The anticipated award of this RFT is the week of February 12, 2024. The Contractor cannot carry out any work at 11087 Trafalgar Road (including accessing the property) until February 16, 2024. The Work must be completed prior to March 15, 2024 and therefore the Contractor's Tender Price shall account for winter conditions.
