Renovation of a water / sewer project in Harrison, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The City of Harrison is requesting Bids for the construction of Tank Painting & Repairs. The Project includes exterior tank cleaning and application of a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system and foundation cleaning with a two (2) coat epoxy system of the 100,000-gallon spheroid with a high-water level of 115 feet. Repairs include miscellaneous modifications and safety improvements including, but not limited to, welding patch plates, installing a hand hold and a roof hatch gasket, adjustment of fall prevention devices, modification of the overflow discharge, replacing the mud valve and light bulbs, and installing a pressure vacuum vent. The date the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. A pre-bid conference will not be held. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. American Iron and Steel Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials. The following waivers apply to this Contract: De Minimis, Minor Components, Pig iron and direct reduced iron The City of Harrison reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and make the award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the City of Harrison. The structure is a 100,000-gallon spheroid with a high-water level of 115 feet located at 285nWestlawn St. in Harrison, Michigan Repairs: 1) Install a gasket on the wet interior roof hatch. 2) Install a handhold at the painter's (bird) hatch. 3) Replace the mud valve. 4) Overflow discharge modification. 5) Adjust the fall prevention devices on the wet interior and dry interior access tube ladders. 6) Install a pressure vacuum vent. 7) Weld patch plates in the access tube. 8) Weld a patch plate on the condensate platform. 9) Replace the dry interior and aviation light bulbs. On request, and to the extent Owner has control over the Site, and schedule permitting, the Owner will provide Bidder general access to the Site to conduct such additional examinations, investigations, explorations, tests, and studies as Bidder deems necessary for preparing and submitting a successful Bid. Owner will not have any obligation to grant such access if doing so is not practical because of existing operations, security or safety concerns, or restraints on Owner's authority regarding the Site. Bidder is responsible for establishing access needed to reach specific selected test sites. The date by which Substantial Completion must be achieved is November 15, 2024, and the date by which readiness for final payment must be achieved is December 15, 2024.
