Renovation of an educational facility in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
There are three Window/Door Replacement Projects that are apart of the MSBA Accelerated Repair Program. General Bids for Prime Window/Door Contractors for Window/Exterior Door Replacement project that is participating in the Massachusetts School Building Authority's (MSBA's) Accelerated Repair Program with construction to occur during Summer 2024. The project work consists of the replacement of exterior windows and doors at the H.B. Lawrence School in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The project shall be constructed so as to meet all requirements of the Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the plans and specifications. B. General Project Information, the work consists of the removal of the existing exterior window and door assemblies. Removal of selective original window trim casing. Installation of new aluminum windows and FRP doors and frames. Provide field cut opening of the new insulated panel for the installation of the existing A/C units. Minor repair/replacement of the existing wood window sill and vertical mullion, Perform hazardous materials abatement including disposal as described in the HazMat specifications. Question Deadline 01/04/2024 5:00PM EST The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, includes all labor, materials, equipment and services required to perform the work described fully in the Drawings and Specifications and includes, but is not limited to the following major work: 1. Construction of a window and door replacement including, but not limited to: a. Remove and dispose of existing aluminum window assembly. b. Remove and dispose of existing original wood window assembly underneath the aluminum window. c. Selective removal of the existing wood trims. d. Remove existing window treatments. e. Remove and reinstall existing window air conditioning (A/C) units. f. Remove metal door and transom framing and glazing including hardware. g. Perform hazardous materials abatement including disposal. h. New aluminum window systems with operable sash and fixed insulated panels. i. New FRP doors and aluminum framing assembly and transoms with door hardware. j. Minor modifications to the existing wood trim. k. Wood blocking, interior finish wood trim, sealants, glazing, and accessories. l. Provide cut rectangular openings in new fixed insulated panels within window framing systems for installation of thru-wall existing A/C units. m. In addition, work under the Contract includes: 1) All work either shown on the Drawings and in the Specifications. 2) The restoration of site work and any other existing construction damaged or destroyed by construction operations. 3) Coordinate and cooperation with other contractors under separate contract with the Owner on site. 4) Provide all temporary facilities. 5) Field testing and other commissioning activities for new windows and door systems. 6) Protection of and coordination with existing, including but not limited to: electrical wiring, devices, and conduits; fire alarm devices, wiring and wireways; exit signage, wiring and wireways; security alarm devices, wiring and wireways; HV units; and radiation and piping, in order to perform the removal and replacement work for the new window and door systems
