“The owner has determined a prequalified list of construction managers. Brazosport Water Supply Corporation (BWSC) is seeking a qualified Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) to provide preconstruction services and complete construction services for the Harris Reservoir Expansion Project (Project). The selected CMAR will work as a team with the BWSC Owner's Representative Team and Design Professional to ensure an efficient construction of the Project. The Project will construct a 60,000 acre-feet reservoir generally between the Brazos River and Oyster Creek, including the following components: 8 miles of earthen embankment sourced within the perimeter of the embankment circumference. General details include: o A structural height of 33.5 feet with side slopes ranging between 3H to 1V and 3.5H to 1V o Soil Cement Wave protection on the upper third of the inboard slope of the embankment o Precast wave wall along the inside face of the 16-ft wide crest road o Continuous Cement-bentonite seepage control wall of various depths along the perimeter of the dam (note: depths range from 60 feet to 165 feet deep) o Vertical Chimney Drain, Horizontal Blanket Drain, and Toe Drain System o Continuous maintenance road along the outside perimeter of the embankment o Series of seepage control relief wells o 150,000 GPM Pump Station and Brazos River Intake including: o Reinforced concrete, below-grade, dry pit style pump station with a pre-engineered metal building over the below-grade pit. o Two 75,000-gpm horizontal centrifugal pumps driven by 2250-hp horizontal electric motors with VFDs to allow for variations in static head due to changing river levels o Two 84-in diameter cylindrical wedge wire type tee screens mounted on a sheet pile headwall in the Brazos River o Two 72" diameter underground pipelines extending roughly 350-ft from the river intake to the pump station o 72-inch diameter steel pipeline roughly 1500-ft long between the Brazos River Pump Station and the Reservoir o 15-foot X 15-foot concrete intake stilling well; o Concrete outlet tower with a 10-foot-wide conduit and concrete baffled spillway o 1300 SF Operations Building including restrooms, meeting and storage space o Oyster Creek Floodplain Enhancements o Conveyance improvement through bank benching of roughly 3,600 linear feet of an unnamed tributary to Oyster Creek o Conveyance improvement through bank benching of roughly 13,000 linear feet of Oyster Creek o 85 mile long flood conveyance channel including a broad crested weir on south bank of Oyster Creek.
