The Charleston County Intersection Improvement project includes ten (10) intersections in various parts of the County. The Charleston County Intersection Improvement project includes ten (10) intersections in various parts of the County. The work will include, but not be limited to, concrete sidewalks, pavement striping, installation of a raised crosswalk, conduit installation, pedestrian signal heads, pedestal poles, pedestrian ramps, all-pedestrian signal phase, and sediment and erosion control. 1. The SCDOT Crosswalk Enhancement project is part of the SCDOT District 6 initiative to upgrade and/or install pedestrian improvements at signalized intersections. Phase II includes the following intersections: a. Fielding Connector and Croghan Spur b. St. Andrews Boulevard and Riverdale Drive c. East Bay Street and Columbus Street d. I-26 Eastbound Ramps and Remount Road e. Leeds Avenue and Azalea Drive f. Azalea Drive and Industrial Avenue 2. Cosgrove Avenue and Azalea Drive intersection improvement is part of SCDOT's original Crosswalk Enhancement request. The intersection is in North Charleston and scoped to increase pedestrian safety. 3. The Courtenay Drive at Doughty Street Signal Improvements and Stocker/Chadwick Drive at Savannah Highway Intersection project, located in the City of Charleston, involves intersection and pedestrian safety improvements. The projects are located at the intersection of Courtenay Drive and Doughty Street in Downtown Charleston and intersection of Stocker/Chadwick Drive and Savannah Highway in West Ashley. 4. The West Ashley Bikeway Connection project, located in the City of Charleston, involves the widening of the existing sidewalk to encourage bicyclist/pedestrians to use the proposed crossing at the intersection of Saint Andrews Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue. The project spans along Saint Andrews Boulevard, Sycamore Avenue, and Battery Avenue. The plan sets for all projects are provided with the intent of being constructed together. All necessary permits have been procured and are included in this package. The project will be constructed utilizing the items listed on the individual bid tab form for each project in the solicitation Question Deadline 01/05/2024 at 5:00 PM ET The County reserves the right to determine the priority of scheduled items. The Contractor shall also be responsible demonstrating actual and planned progress, in such detail as required by the County.
