Renovation of a municipal facility in Santa Maria, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
**As of February 23, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded.** In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, removal, disposal and replacement of existing roofing on various municipal buildings located within the City of Santa Maria. Work includes necessary roof preparation and installation of new roof assembly. Also included are the removal and replacement of metal flashing, roof gutters and downspout, repair of deteriorated roof decking, evaluation of the existing vent system and installation of additional roof vents, if necessary, and all miscellaneous work for a complete installation of new roof per manufacturer's recommendations, plans and as specified herein. At the time of the bid opening, the successful Bidder must be legally entitled to perform contracts requiring a California "A or C-39" Contracting License. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids as the best interests of the City may dictate and, to the extent permitted by law, waive any irregularity in any bid. If there is any reason for believing that collusion exists among the bidders, the City may reject any or all bids. Dated at City of Santa Maria, County of Santa Barbara, California Scope of work a. Remove set aside, or backset tile to reinstall. b. Remove existing underlayment /hot mop down to substrate and discard. c. Install new SBS underlayment to replace discarded underlayment. d. Re-Install vertical battens. replace any damaged rotten or unusable battens. e. Re-Install existing clay bird stop. Replace any damaged cracked, broken or unusable bird stop to match existing. f. Re-Install existing tile to match current installation method. Replace any broken cracked or unusable tile as needed to match existing. g. Re-Install ridge, Rake ridge, and hip tile to match current installation. Replace any damaged broken cracked or unusable ridge, hip or rake components as needed. h. Install mortar as needed to match existing installation including, but not limited to ridge, Valley, and hip sections of the roof i. Install boosted tile approximately 15 percent boost to match existing with mortar, and or adhesives. Interpretation of Specifications Should a Bidder be in doubt as to the true meaning of any item in the Plans or Specifications or discover items containing discrepancies or omissions, the Bidder is responsible for immediately notifying the Engineer. All questions must be submitted in writing through the PlanetBids Procurement Question/Answer Tab via the City's e-Procurement portal, on or before the Question & Answer Submission Date and Time. Please include the section title of this Specification for each question, if applicable, in order to ensure that questions asked are responded to correctly. All questions submitted and answers provided shall be electronically distributed to all bidders who have selected to "follow" this Specification on the City's e-Procurement Portal. Any addenda shall be posted on the City's e-Procurement Portal. Addenda notifications will be emailed to all persons who have selected to "follow" this Specification. Failure of any Bidder to receive any such addenda or interpretation shall not relieve such Bidder from any obligation under their bid as submitted. All addenda so issued shall become part of the contract documents. Such addenda are to be considered as part of the contract documents, and the Bidder shall acknowledge this condition in the e-Procurement Portal. The Engineer shall not be held responsible for any oral interpretations or instructions. No addenda can be issued less than forty-eight (48) hours before bid opening without an accompanying bid time extension. The Engineer reserves the right to make decisions on extending the bid period.
