Remodeling of an educational facility in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.

Project scope includes but is not limited to Demolition of existing interior wall finishes of kitchen down to studs, Installation of new finishes and equipment and construction of new single occupancy restroom in existing storage space as shown in the project documents for a complete and operational project. Work to be performed during normal business hours. Pursuant to the Notice Inviting Bids, and in compliance with the instructions to Bidders, having reviewed all Contract Documents and the site(s) of the work, the undersigned hereby proposes to furnish all work, labor, materials, transportation, equipment and services necessary for the SMYTHE ACADEMY P-6 KITCHEN REMODEL PROJECT. all in accordance with the specifications and working details and all other Contract Documents The contract work for these areas shall be ready for occupancy by the District on August 02, 2024 with final contract completion (closeout) of all work by October 04, 2024 as noted in the Contract Questions regarding bidding procedures may be directed to the contacts . The successful bidder shall commence work with the issuance of the Notice to Proceed and per the project schedule referenced below. The District has established a liquidated damage rate of $1,000.00 per calendar day for each and every calendar day that the work remains fully uncompleted or unaccepted by the District. Bid RFIs Due to District January 03, 2024 @ 2:15 pm Addendum, if issued January 08, 2024 @ 2:15 pm Board Award of Contract January 23, 2024 Notice of Award January 26, 2024 Notice to Proceed February 02, 2024 Start Date: Construction February 05, 2024 Substantial Completion Date August 02, 2024 Contract Completion (Closeout) October 04, 2024 Prime Contractor bidders shall be required to have a valid Class B Contractors License. Bids must be from an appropriately licensed contractor and must be sealed. Interested bidders must be appropriately licensed. Each Bid must be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidders security: (1) cash; (2) a cashiers check made payable to the District; (3) a certified check made payable to the District; or (4) a bidders bond executed by a California admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120, made payable to the District in the form set forth in the Bid Documents. Such bidders security must be in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of bid for each site, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed Contract, if the same is awarded to such bidder, and will provide the required performance and payment Bonds, insurance certificates and any other required documents. In the event of failure to enter into said Contract or provide the necessary documents, said security will be forfeited. Any bid received at the designated location after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids shall be returned to the bidder unopened. At the bidders sole discretion, Bids may be mailed or delivered by courier but must be received by the District prior to the hour and date of the Bid opening and shall be addressed to the Purchasing Office, attention: Brittany Smith, of the Twin Rivers Unified School District, 3222 Winona Way, Suite 200, North Highlands, California 95660. It is each bidders sole responsibility to ensure its bid is timely delivered and received as designated above. The District is not responsible for misdirected mail - either internal or external - or other failure of any bid to be delivered the specified location. Any bid received at the specified location after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids shall be returned to the bidder unopened. Bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to section 1770 et seq. of the Labor Code of the State of California, the Director of Industrial Relations has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the rates for overtime and holiday work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute the Contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder. Copies are on file with and available upon request from the District. At the request and expense of the successful bidder, securities equivalent to the amount withheld from progress payments (i.e., retention) may be deposited with the District, or with a state or Federally chartered bank as the escrow agent (the successful bidder shall bear all costs of escrow) and the District shall pay monies which would otherwise be retained to the successful bidder. The form of escrow agreement and securities eligible for investment pursuant to this option shall be governed by Public Contract Code Section 22300 and Government Code Section 16430. Within 10 days after notification of the Award of Contract, the successful bidder or bidders will be required to furnish, simultaneously with execution of the Contract, a Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond in the form required by the District, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price from an admitted surety company as defined in Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120. In accordance with Education Code Section 17076.11, District has established a participation goal for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE). Bidder shall be familiar with this provision and provide the necessary information as indicated in the Instructions to Bidders. In determining the lowest responsive Bid, District intends to consider only the base bid. The Contract Documents for the Project have many unique requirements. Bidders are cautioned to carefully review all of the Contract Documents prior to submitting a Bid and to obtain pre-Bid clarification of any provision which bidder believes is ambiguous or confusing, as provided for in the Contract Documents. The Engineers estimate for this project is: $1,575,000 The Board reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, and further reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bids or in the bidding. Pursuant to Labor Code sections 1725.5 and 1771.1, all contractors and subcontractors that wish to bid on, be listed in a bid or enter into a contract to perform public work must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. No bid will be accepted nor any contract entered into without proof of the contractors and subcontractors current registration with the Department of Industrial Relations to perform work. If awarded a Contract, the Bidder and its subcontractors, of any tier, shall maintain active registration with the Department of Industrial Relations for the duration of the Project This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. In bidding on this project, it shall be the Bidders sole responsibility to evaluate and include the cost of complying with all labor compliance requirements under this Contract and applicable law in its bid As a condition of bidding for this Project, and in accordance with California Public Contract Code section 20111.5, prospective bidders are required to be prequalified to submit bids to the District. Bids will not be accepted if a Contractor has not been prequalified. Prequalification applications may be submitted Electronically Prequalification applications should be submitted in enough time to ensure processing. Processing could take up to 21 days depending on the accuracy of the application. Bidders must have a determination of prequalified status at least five (5) days before bid opening. Contractors will be notified by email of the results of their prequalification application. Prequalification of Bidders MANDATORY for Projects using funds received pursuant to the Leroy F, Greene School Facilities Act or any funds from any state bond fund that involves a projected expenditure of $1,000,000 or more- delete if not applicable. If this Project includes work that will be performed by mechanical, electrical or plumbing (MEP) subcontractors (contractors that hold C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43 or C-46 licenses), such MEP contractors must also be prequalified. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that all MEP subcontractors holding any of the licenses listed above are properly prequalified before submitting a bid. This prequalification requirement applies even if the subcontractor (of any tier) is designated to perform work that does not require one of the licenses listed above, but the subcontractor holds one of the licenses listed above Liquidated Damages: $ 1,000.00/day Number of executed contracts needed: Four Originals
