Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Bellingham, Washington. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Phase 1 consists of working with WWU on planning and program validation, schematic design, and design development. Phase 2 will consist of construction documentation, soliciting and contracting with subcontractors, construction, project closeout, and warranty period. WWU intends to build a new Student Development & Success Center on the Bellingham campus. WWU envisions a new facility that will co-locate a new Welcome Center with Admissions, New Student Service/Family Outreach, Academic Advising, Career Services, Student Outreach, and Counseling and Wellness Center, in one collaborative facility, also including a Social Justice Center, Commuter Resource Center, Study Café, and shared support spaces. Site amenities include landscaping and outdoor gathering spaces. The Design-Build Team will also assist the Owner in selecting the best site for the Project to maximize the Project Goals. The proposed Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) budget for the project is approximately $36.9 million, not including tax. PDB teams must have an established record of site analysis, design, project management and design-build construction excellence, and a strong background in institutional facilities.
