Renovation of an educational facility in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit sealed bids for a contractor to provide window removal and replacement services to Norfolk Public Schools Bidder must provide all labor, materials, and equipment to perform the following: 1. Windowpane replacement throughout the building 1. Bidder shall remove any damaged glass and hazardous materials that are defined in the contract documents 2. Worksite location: Booker T. Washington High School, 1111 Park Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23504 3. The Bidder shall provide and transport replacement glass to worksite 4. Bidder shall provide and coordinate delivery of lift to perform work 5. Bidder shall replace glass and any damaged stainless steel trim caps 6. Bidder shall remove and dispose of all debris from the premises 7. Window must be checked or tested for leaks and pressure before job is completed 8. All work shall be performed in phases TIME OF COMPLETION: Substantial Completion: September 27, 2024 Final Completion: 30 calendar Days after Substantial Completion BID BOND OR GUARANTEE: Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond or guarantee of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, which shall be a certified check, cash escrow or a bid bond payable to the Treasurer of the Norfolk Public School district. The sureties of all bonds shall be of such surety company or companies as are approved by the State and are authorized to transact business in the District of Virginia. Such bid bond or check shall be submitted with the understanding that it shall guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw such bid during the period of ______ days following the opening of bids; that if such bid is accepted, the bidder will accept and perform under the terms of the Invitation for Bids and purchase order or contract. The bid guarantee will be returned upon award of contract. This date is to be stated in the Agreement between Owner and Contractor, and to execute the Agreement in the form of Norfolk Public Schools Agreement between Owner and Contractor, Latest Edition, if notified of award of the contract within forty-five (45) calendar days after the bid opening date. The Undersigned further agrees, if awarded the contract, to execute and deliver Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bonds on AIA document A312 and 100% of Contract amount. Bidders shall carefully examine this IFB and any addenda. NPS shall not be responsible for oral clarifications and interpretations. Bidders are responsible for seeking clarifications, in writing, of any ambiguity, conflict, omission, or other errors in the IFB. All questions must be submitted in writing, via email to: Lcade350@nps.k12.va.us. The deadline for submitting questions under this IFB is 10:00 AM EST, December 13, 2023.
