RFP - UM Battery Lab - Phase 2 Dry Room University of Michigan is currently planning renovations to an existing leased facility Battery Lab located at 1910 Ellsworth Rd, Ann Arbor, MI. The existing 12,500sf building is a flex type building, consisting of a warehouse/shop side (~10,000sf), and an office side (~2,500sf). The building was previously used for R&D type work, and will be utilized by the University of Michigan for the assembly and testing of battery and battery components. The building is currently unoccupied, but beginning in April 2024, will be utilized by a small group of staff who will make use of the office and weld room spaces as shown on the drawings. The remaining portion of the building will remain unoccupied and will be available for the Contractor's work. The project will include installation of a new ~4,700sf modular dry room and associated process utilities and electrical distribution. The intent would be that the dry room utilizes a self-supporting structure and modular wall construction which would allow for future flexibility. Work may also include a series of bid alternates and exterior site work. Construction is expected to start March 2024.
