“The owner has determined a prequalified list of construction managers. The City of Reno is soliciting proposals from construction companies for Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services for the Reno Fire Department Central Station project at 455 East 2nd Street. The construction cost is estimated at approximately $65,000,000. The CMAR will provide the required pre-construction and potentially be contracted to complete the project's construction services. Pre-construction services shall include assisting the Design Team with construction pricing to establish an initial project estimate and a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), constructability matters, value engineering, fast track options, risk management (identification, mitigation, and allocation), and scheduling. If the City of Reno accepts the CMAR's GMP, the City will enter into a construction contract with the CMAR to complete the project's construction services, which shall include procurement of all subcontractor contracts and managing construction of the project. The construction project includes the construction of the Reno Fire Department Central Station at 455 East 2nd Street. It is anticipated that the Reno Fire Department Central Station building shall include three (3) floors, seven (7) fire engine and ambulance apparatus bays, living and sleeping quarters, a recreation area, restrooms, administration office space, a training tower, and other auxiliary facility support rooms. Site improvements shall include the construction of a new parking lot with improved site access, right of way improvements adjacent to the site to facilitate ingress and egress of fire apparatuses, addition of fuel pumps, utility relocation, protection and preservation of select existing trees, and other ancillary site work.
