It is known that corrosion can shorten the life of the boilers, heat exchangers, chillers, pipes, and increase the costs associated with maintenance. Scale deposit can impede heat transfer, which results in higher energy costs. All of these problems can be controlled by a complete chemical water treatment program that includes corrosion inhibitors, scale, and microbiological control. The objective of the water treatment service program will be to reduce the corrosive attack on the metal parts, minimize scale deposits, reduce water usage, reduce maintenance time, and increase the energy efficiency of the existing systems at the sites specified. The Successful Bidder shall supply all labour, materials, chemicals, equipment and supervision required to provide a water treatment service program for the cooling towers, closed chilled water systems, and hot water systems at various locations. The chemical water treatment service program will include chemicals, biocides, test chemicals, reagents, reporting, legionella, brine, glycol testing and laboratory analysis including building operator training at various locations at the City of Hamilton.
