The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction (FP&C) on behalf of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System (Owner) and West Texas A&M University, is accepting proposals for the selection process to enter into a contract with a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) firm to provide pre-construction services such as constructability guidance, cost estimates, and construction schedules; provide a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP); and perform complete construction services consistent with the CMAR construction delivery process as utilized by The Texas A&M University System for the Public Safety Facility project (#18-3369) located in Canyon, Texas Contact Name: Steve Hill The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction (FP&C) on behalf of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System (Owner) and West Texas A&M University, is accepting proposals for the selection process to enter into a contract with a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) firm to provide pre-construction services such as constructability guidance, cost estimates, and construction schedules; provide a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP); and perform complete construction services consistent with the CMAR construction delivery process as utilized by The Texas A&M University System for the Public Safety Facility project (#18-3369) located in Canyon, Texas. The new Public Safety Building will renovate approximately 19,500 gross square feet within the Palo Duro Research Center (PDRC) to provide a series of office suites with limited public access for parking services and the Title IX offices. Office and support space will be provided for police administration, patrol, investigations, dispatch, fire and life safety, lock shop, Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), and Title IX. A multipurpose training space will be provided to allow in-house training and will be shared by the University Police Department (UPD) and TDEM. The training space can also be used as an ad hoc emergency operations center if needed. In support of the patrol and investigations departments, a property/evidence area is included for the proper booking, analysis, and storage of evidence collected during an investigation. The dispatch center is the heart of UPD operations and will need to be provided with a space that is hardened against weather or other emergency events to maintain continuous operation. Workshop/warehouse space is also provided for bulk storage and operations for the lock shop and fire and life safety. These spaces will require direct access to the exterior for both moving material in and out of the building and for UTV and golf cart access. The Title IX offices should be provided with a separate entry from the main UPD public entrance and should be provided with their own unique identity. It is preferable that the entry be both easily accessible and discreet. The Planning Amount for the project is $9,975,000, which includes an Amount Available for Construction Contract (AACC) of $6,379,537. Fees, furnishings, other work, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies make up the balance of the Planning Amount.
